If you’re based in the US and looking to order a Maystone watch, you might have noticed a new customs duty charge added at checkout. I wanted to take a moment to explain what’s happening, why this has changed, and how I’ve set things up to make sure you’re still getting the best price and smoothest shipping experience possible.
Why is there a new charge?
Up until recently, products under $800 could be imported into the US without customs duties. With the recent change to the US de minimis rules, every product, no matter its value, now requires customs fees when imported. Unfortunately, this includes Maystone watches.
Why does the watch count as a “China-origin” product?
Although your order is shipped from the UK, US customs classify goods based on where they are assembled. That means Maystone watches are considered “of Chinese origin” for import purposes. This classification directly affects the customs price when the watch enters the US.
What does the fee cover?
The extra charge you see at checkout is entirely customs duties. Shipping itself is completely free. By including this cost upfront, I send the watch duty paid. This avoids you having to deal with extra fees once the package is in US customs, fees that can often be higher and cause frustrating delays.
Am I still getting the best price?
Yes. The customs fee you see at checkout is the lowest I could achieve, and I have set things up so that the watch clears customs quickly and smoothly. This is the fairest and most transparent way to handle it.
I completely understand this is not ideal, and trust me, I wish there was a way around these new rules. What I can promise is that I will always be upfront about the costs, keep shipping free, and make sure your Maystone watch arrives without hassle.
Thank you so much for your support, it means the world.
